The Denver Broncos are bringing back their entire starting offensive line from last season.
Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles, left guard Ben Powers, center Luke Wattenberg, right guard Quinn Meinerz and right tackle Mike McGlinchey are set to protect quarterback Bo Nix and open up running lanes in 2025.
“I will say that’s one of the rarest things I’ve ever been a part of,” McGlinchey said in January when asked about the entire starting lineup returning in 2025. “That’s a pretty cool deal. We understand the responsibility of our group to be at the forefront of this football team. The standard that we’ve set for our building, it’s our job next year to go exceed it.
“We have — not just the starting five — but the whole room is a bunch of guys that are committed to getting better and committed to upholding the standard that we’ve now set for what we’re capable of. Now the standard’s set. We have to beat the standard, and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”
Since coach Sean Payton arrived in 2023, the Broncos have emphasized building up the offensive and defensive lines, splashing cash on both position groups.
“It’s really important,” general manager George Paton said of the o-line and d-line. “That’s how you build from inside out. That was an area where we had to… Two years ago we set the tone. We love Meinerz, we loved ‘Cush,’ but we had to get better. So we went out and signed Mike McGlinchey Ben Powers. We felt like our offensive line was going to be set. We lost ‘Cush’, but we love Wattenberg, another kid we drafted.”
With the full line returning, Denver’s offense will have continuity up front that will benefit Nix — and everyone on offense. The Broncos won’t be able to keep the entire group together for Nix’s entire career, but there’s a window now to compete with a group that has great familiarity.
