Cowboys Trade for Kyle Pitts Rumor Goes Nuts After ESPN Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

FRISCO – The Dallas Cowboys this offseason traded for one star pass-catcher in George Pickens. So … why not get greedy and do it again?

There is gossip about Kyle Pitts, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, fading from the plans of the Atlanta Falcons.

So, dream away …

On the list of dreamers is Terrence Parsons, Micah’s brother, who has joined the army of those who have floated the idea of a Cowboys trade for Pitts.

“Imagine Jerry trading a 2nd round pick for Pitts we in the bowl,” Terrence wrote.

Cowboys ex Dez Bryant has expressed the same desire.

And then along came ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, with his usual weekend exercise of throwing gunk against the wall to see if it’ll stick.

Fowler is “reporting” that Pitts “would be open to” a trade … a note that simply doesn’t pass The Smell Test. And why not?

Because Pitts has no voice in any of this. It doesn’t matter if he likes it or not. And we’ll bet Fowler never, ever asked Pitts his opinion.

As a result of all of this, there is now a wildly amateurish YouTube video proclaiming “breaking news” and a ‘done deal” with Pitts coming here.

Folks are nos going nuts …

And it’s all a ruse.

One reason your antenna should go up here: Pitts doesn’t really stand out over present Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson.

In his promising rookie year, Pitts caught 68 balls for 1,026 but with just one TD. But since then? He averages over three years about 500 yards on 50 catches with three TDs.

He is, by the numbers, just a guy.
