PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers are finalizing a ‘blockbuster’ trade with the Miami Dolphins that includes three of the teams’ star players.

All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is returning to the Dolphins as part of the deal, along with a 2027 5th round pick.

In exchange, the Steelers are acquiring veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith, as well as a 2027 7th round draft pick.

Fitzpatrick was drafted by Miami in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft and was traded the following season to Pittsburgh.

In 5+ seasons with the Steelers, Fitzpatrick appeared in 88 total games, starting all of them, and recorded 18 interceptions and four total defensive touchdowns.

During his tenure in Pittsburgh, the 28-year-old also earned three First-team All-Pro selections and was a five-time Pro Bowler.

As for Ramsey, the 30-year-old former first-round pick is entering his 10th NFL season, which has included stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, LA Rams and the Dolphins.

Ramsey has played in 135 career games thus far and has 24 career interceptions.

He is also a three-time All-Pro selection and a 7-time Pro Bowler. Ramsey also helped the Rams win a Super Bowl in the 2021-22 season.

Tight end Jonnu Smith is coming off a career year where he recorded 88 receptions, for nearly 900 yards, and 8 touchdowns.

The 29-year-old Smith will play for his 5th team in nine seasons.

Smith will also receive a one-year contract extension as part of the deal, according to reports.
