Before there was America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, there was Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team.

That’s right, your now annual watch of the hit Netflix series which just dropped season two, isn’t the first docuseries to follow the famed NFL cheerleaders. In fact, DCC: Making The Team has a whopping 16 seasons in its catalogue. That’s a lot of AC DC ‘Thunderstruck’.

You’ve probably even seen footage of the reality TV series predecessor scattered throughout America’s Sweethearts. The new series often shows footage of DCC Director Kelli Finglass and choreographer, Judy Trammell, dishing out some harsh (and possibly no longer acceptable) critiques to the team.

So what’s happened to DCC: Making The Team? And where can you binge watch it now to fill that Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders sized hole in your heart after finishing season two? We have all the answers.

DCC Making The Team

What Happened To Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team?

The original reality show followed a relatively similar premise and format to the new Netflix series, documenting the audition process for the DCC team.

It began airing in 2006 and ran for 16 seasons until the 2021-22 season when the show was ultimately axed.

Exactly why the show stopped being produced remains unclear, but Netflix’s docu series began just two years later, filming the 2023-24 season.

Where Can I Watch DCC: Making The Team In Australia?

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team Is available to watch here in Australia on Paramount+. Currently, the streaming platform has seasons one through to 14 available to stream.

You can also access the series to stream via Prime Video, for an additional cost thanks to their affiliate with Paramount.

DCC Making The Team

Is DCC: Making The Team Still Filming?

No, DCC: Making The Team officially wrapped filming after the 2021-22 NFL season with season 16 marking their final episodes of the show.

Which America’s Sweethearts Cast Were Also On Making The Team?

With some DCC veterans totalling six years on the team, it should come as no surprise to see some familiar faces across both shows. Armani, KayDianna, Chandi, Jada, Kelee and Klein all appeared on the original show as well as Kelcey and Victoria who chose to leave the team after season one of the Netflix series.
