Best AFC 2025 NFL Draft picks

USA TODAY’s Tyler Dragon breaks down which teams in the AFC drafted the best this year.

Sports Seriously

The New York Jets are back at the airport.

New York’s flight was grounded after yet another disappointing season came to an end in early January. The team wasted no time getting to work on repairs, installing a new coaching staff and front office in the form of Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey.

Shortly after the duo arrived, it was the roster that needed to be addressed. Almost in the blink of an eye, the new regime informed Aaron Rodgers they would be going in a different direction. So out went Rodgers and in came Justin Fields.

The roster continues to be a work in progress, especially without the quick fixes in free agency that are typical of the Jets.

They return a similar team, hoping that coaching and development can make all the difference. The departures board is filled with 17 games that await. New York will hope to set their destination to the postseason, a place they haven’t been in the last 14 seasons.

To do that, it starts with taking care of business against the teams that stand in your way. Here’s a look at the Jets opponents for 2025.

Just like every season, the Jets will face off against their division foes – the Patriots, Bills and Dolphins – at home and on the road. This year they’ll also take on the AFC North and NFC South teams as part of the NFL’s rotating schedule.

The Broncos, Jaguars and Cowboys close out the slate of opponents for the Jets in 2025. Those teams were determined by the Jets’ third-place finish in their division.

“Gang Green” is also slated to be the designated home team for a game in London this season, meaning one of their nine home opponents will take their battle across the pond.

When is the 2025 NFL schedule release?

The 2025 NFL schedule release is slated in full on Wednesday, May 14.

It has essentially become the final marquee offseason event of the NFL calendar, representing the official turning of the page to next season.

All 32 teams will see their entire 18-week roadmap to the 2025 regular season revealed on schedule release day. Leaks will trickle out in the days leading up to it, but the fall calendar will begin to take shape after the official release.

This year’s schedule release will be held one day earlier than last year’s, which was on May 15. The NFL announced the full 2024 schedule at 8 p.m. ET that night, so fans can expect a similar release time for this year’s schedule.
