On a recent appearance on the ‘Bussin’ with the Boys,’ Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce shared how he thinks opponents will attack Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookie Travis Hunter.

Kelce called Hunter a “world-class athlete,” but he thinks that opposing offenses should run deep route after deep route against him to wear him down over the course of a game.

“That’s the thing, I don’t know how they’re going to divvy it out,” Kelce said. “Teams are going to be going after him. Like they’re going try to make his day miserable.”

Kelce then added, “If he plays corner, they’re going to run deep balls at him all day. They’re going to run, the wide receivers just take off on him all day. Just to try to get him tired. Like why wouldn’t you try to attack him that way?”

With that said, Kelce firmly believes that Hunter will be successful in the NFL.

“Hell yes. 100%,” he said when asked if Hunter will be good in the NFL.

Of course, playing on both sides of the ball in college vs. the NFL are two very different things. But helping Hunter make that jump is his physical conditioning.

“I think what helps him do things right a lot is that he’s so well conditioned that, from a mental fatigue standpoint, doesn’t seem to occur all that much out here, where he can kind of just run,” Liam Coen said. “He’s been in altitude for a few years now, but he is in very good physical shape when it comes to being able to run all day and that’s something that ultimately, once the legs start to go, the mind starts to go and you don’t really see that all that often with him, he just keeps going.

“So that’s been exciting to see, and he’s going to have to lean into that as he goes here and the reps start to go up and he starts to play offense and defense on the same day, which will occur in training camp.”

It also remains to be seen what Hunter’s playing time on offense and defense will look like each week this season. As Tony Khan explained recently, the game flow will do a lot of the dictating in that regard.

The Jaguars play the Chiefs at home this season in Week 5 and on Monday Night Football.
