The Cincinnati Bengals remain one of the hottest topics in the NFL despite it being the slowest point of the offseason.

So it goes when a franchise sits in a contract dispute with an All-Pro defender like Trey Hendrickson and its own first-round pick, Shemar Stewart. It certainly doesn’t hurt that star quarterback Joe Burrow is about to star on a Netflix show, too.

Here’s a look at some of the biggest Bengals news items to know right now.

Joe Burrow isn’t pounding the table for Trey Hendrickson to get an extension like in the past. But he’s also publicly making some interesting comments about it, including handling it in a very expected, Joe Burrow way.

One reporter dug up the Bengals’ rookie contract language and compared it to that of another team. It might explain why Shemar Stewart didn’t even practice with his teammates, like most rookies.

While it was a smaller note last season, rookie Kris Jenkins Jr. toughed it out with an injury. Now, he’s back, healthy and expected to play a bigger role.

If you’re looking for the Bengals to add a free-agent guard like Brandon Scherff…you might be looking for quite a while.
