The Los Angeles Rams bolstered speed and power via the 2025 NFL Draft. Yet some fans will believe competition for Kyren Williams is coming.
Williams rose as fifth rounder in 2022 to Pro Bowl running back in 2023. The veteran is now entering a pivotal contract year this season. Except Jarquez Hunter of Auburn is coming on board — with the Los Angeles Rams grabbing him during the fourth round last week.

Does Williams see Hunter as a threat? What about Blake Corum coming back for a second season and aiming to improve his numbers? Williams sounded off on the upcoming competition with DJ Siddiqi of RG.org.

Williams sounds unbothered by the new-look RB room. Because he sees it more as an opportunity to become a teacher for his new teammates.
“I’ve been in the league since I was 21 years old,” Williams said to Siddiqi. “Being able to be surrounded by the type of vets that I was surrounded by earlier in my career, it makes it easier. It makes it exciting to be a young leader, I can take these guys underneath my wings and show them the way.”

Williams added that he had it far different compared to Hunter, Corum and the other Rams backs.
“Nobody really showed me how to do it. Once I was able to get to where I’m at, it’s only right that I put it on the people who are going to be after me,” Williams said. “I’m just going to take from the mistakes and everything that I learned from my work here to where I’m at now, try to put them on game, just be cheerful and be happy for them for whatever they do.”
The Rams will still have an intriguing backfield heading into 2025. Corum is a past 27-touchdown machine at Michigan. Hunter brings a 4.44 time in the 40-yard dash. Even Ronnie Rivers shattered numerous Fresno State records before joining the Rams.
