“Has the drought begun for the Kansas City Chiefs and is everybody just afraid to say it because it’s sacrilegious to talk about Patrick Mahomes and it’s sacrilegious to talk about Andy Reid?” – Emmanuel Acho pic.twitter.com/A5rYvlGsBM

The offseason is winding down, and commenters continue sharing their opinions on the upcoming NFL season. One popular question concerns the Kansas City Chiefs and their future among the league’s elite.

FOX Sports analyst and former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho believes that Kansas City could be on their way to some subpar seasons. He discussed the team and, more recently, on FS1’s The Facility.

“We all forget, in the midst of praising Tom Brady, the Patriots didn’t win a Super Bowl for 10 years. From 2004 to 2014, they did not win a championship,” said Acho, “They won three, a 10-year break, three. Patrick Mahomes has already won his three. Are we in the midst of his 10-year hiatus?”

The Chiefs have won the AFC Championship game in the past three seasons. They have created impressive success since Patrick Mahomes became the full-time starter in 2018.

“Has the drought begun for the Kansas City Chiefs and is everybody just afraid to say it,” said Acho, “because it’s sacrilegious to talk about Patrick Mahomes and it’s sacrilegious to talk about Andy Reid.”

Kansas City has won nine consecutive division titles, the second-longest streak of division championships in league history. Only the New England Patriots, who won 11 successive AFC East titles from 2009 to 2019, had a longer streak in NFL history.
