The Las Vegas Raiders sported the league’s worst rushing attack in 2024, largely as a result of poor blocking upfront.

And, that same poor blocking led to Las Vegas finishing tied for the seventh-most sacks allowed with 50.

While things did improve later in the season, the Raiders did not settle and decided to bring in more help upfront, with the signing of guard Alex Cappa to a two-year, $11 million deal being the most notable move.

But Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox isn’t high on the signing. In fact, he thinks Cappa will be the Raiders’ biggest bust of 2025.

“Cappa’s two-year, $11 million contract isn’t egregious, but he’s still likely to underwhelm more than a few Raiders fans this season,” Knox wrote. “Though it’s worth noting that he was on a bad Bengals offensive line last season, Cappa was ranked just 111th overall among guards by Pro Football Focus.”

Based on his contract and the fact that the was a mainstay with the starting group during the offseason program, Cappa figures to land the starting right guard job entering the season.

However, there are concerns with the veteran after he posted abysmal blocking stats in 2024. Cappa posted lackluster Pro Football Focus grades of 50.5 overall, 39.7 in pass-blocking and 54.9 in run-blocking. He also surrendered eight sacks and 51 pressures in 774 pass-blocking snaps.

As a result, it’s easy to see why Knox is predicting Cappa to be the Raiders’ biggest bust of 2025.

Thankfully, if that comes to fruition, the Raiders do have some options to replace him that include the loser of the left guard competition, Jordan Meredith or Dylan Parham, and rookie Caleb Rogers.
