ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler compiled a list of the top-10 ranked tight ends currently in the NFL. New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry didn’t land a spot in the rankings, but he was named in the honorable mentions.

The list came together after a survey of executives, coaches and scouts was conducted at the tight end position. So this isn’t one man’s opinion.

Henry actually played well in 2024, despite the Patriots struggling offensively through most of the season. He recorded 66 catches for a team-high 674 yards and two touchdowns, while averaging 10.2 yards per reception. There is no question that Henry has been one of the more consistent performers on offense for the Patriots. He has tallied 199 receptions for 2,205 yards and 19 touchdowns in his four seasons with the team.

“He’s aging well because speed was never his game but he’s just a good player with sure hands. Can get you 600 or so yards every year. Takes care of his body, great in the locker room,” one NFL personnel evaluator said, via Fowler.

Henry will continue to serve as a key cog on offense for the Patriots in 2025.

More weapons at the receiver position could open up opportunities for the veteran tight end to make an even bigger impact on the passing game. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the best is yet to come from Henry in the Patriots’ offense.
