The Los Angeles Chargers knew they were embarking on one of the most important offseasons in franchise history.

After the first year in the Jim Harbaugh era saw the bolts make a five-win improvement and get back to the playoffs, the mission was to improve the roster around star quarterback Justin Herbert and bring back key depth pieces.

The Chargers were considered to have one of the most underwhelming free agency periods but they more than made up for it in the 2025 NFL draft.

They had the one of the best rated drafts out of all the teams in the league and they just recently made a huge announcement regarding their rookies.

After free agency and the draft, the action doesn’t pick up around the NFL until about June or July when training camp begins.

With so little action going on, teams find this to be the perfect time to get some housekeeping done.

Los Angeles selected nine players in this year’s draft, and they just announced which number each athlete will wear this upcoming season.

Perhaps the most notable is their first-round pick, running back Omarion Hampton, who has decided to wear No. 8.

It hasn’t yet been discovered why he is wearing this number instead of the No. 28 he wore in college, but one thing that can be inferred is that he wanted to keep the number eight somehow.

Chargers fans have been gushing over Hampton since the draft, and they won’t have to wait much longer to see him in action.
