Davante Adams is heading to the West Coast — and it won’t be for another Aaron Rodgers reunion.
The wide receiver, who spent the final 11 games of the 2024 season with the Jets after they acquired him from the Raiders to pair with Rodgers, inked a two-year, $46 million deal — with $26 million of that money guaranteed — with the Rams, according to multiple reports Sunday.
Gang Green’s failed experiment with the six-time Pro Bowler ended last week, when they cut Adams, but the 32-year-old will get another chance to play for a contender when he joins a Los Angeles offense featuring quarterback Matthew Stafford and wideout Puka Nacua.
When the Jets acquired him in October, though, Adams was supposed to pair with budding star Garrett Wilson and give Rodgers another prolific offensive weapon.
At that point, the Jets were 2-4. Robert Saleh had been fired. Nathaniel Hackett had been stripped of his play-calling duties.

But even the addition of Adams, and the 854 receiving yards and seven touchdowns that he contributed, couldn’t ignite the unit.
When Adams began his career with the Packers, he and Rodgers built the foundation for their connection that helped Adams make the first five Pro Bowls of his career and finish with at least 997 receiving yards during five of his final six seasons in Green Bay.
Then, when he went to Las Vegas, Adams teamed with his former college quarterback from Fresno State in Derek Carr, but that tenure quickly spiraled into a rocky one ending when Carr was released.
That’s when the dots started to get connected for a Rodgers-Adams reunion, which transpired when the Jets sent a third-round pick in 2025 to the Raiders.
And with both Adams and Rodgers released by the new Jets regime of general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn, the pair could’ve theoretically stayed together and both joined the same new team.
Rodgers has generated plenty of interest among teams — including at least the Giants, Vikings and Seahawks, according to reports — and should be able to land a starting opportunity despite his rough 2024.

Los Angeles has Stafford, though, and any chance of the Rams needing a new signal-caller evaporated when he opted to stay on a new contract.
The Rams now have Nacua, Adams and Cooper Kupp as options for Stafford, but Kupp revealed last month that Los Angeles is looking to trade him — and general manager Les Snead told reporters last week that Kupp returning is the “least likely option.”
So the Rams, who advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs before getting eliminated, have all the pieces for another postseason run after the addition of Adams. The Jets are in the middle of a reset after their Rodgers wager — and all of the individual layers that bet contained, including Adams — backfired. And because of that, Rodgers and Adams will likely be separated again.
