Detroit’s favorite wide receiver offensive lineman may not have won a Super Bowl ring this year, but he did just win something that would impress the reigning champion of a very different sport – hot dog eating. Last week, Joey Chestnut nearly beat his hot dog-eating record, and while Dan Skipper probably didn’t set any records, he did impress his hometown crowd and walk away with some pretty cool prizes.

Dan Skipper Tackles Hot Dogs

Dan Skipper, the tallest player in the NFL and one of the Lions’ fans’ favorite players, participated in one of America’s oldest pastimes to celebrate what appeared to be a belated Fourth of July party. Donning a shirt with a red, white, and blue mustache, number 70 devoured an impressive seven hot dogs in 5 minutes, according to his wife Mackenzie’s Instagram story.

His seven-weiner victory earned him a pretty sweet prize of an American-flag themed grill, a bag of Kingsford charcoal, a picnic basket, and what appears to be grilling utensils. Honestly, that’s an awesome grill and worth the inevitable trip to the bathroom.
