Garrett Wilson has made his voice heard.

One day after agreeing to a four-year contract extension worth $130 million, the New York Jets’ star wide receiver spoke out on social media.

“Yup, Jets green has been running through me since the day they drafted me,” Wilson wrote on X. “Despite the ups and downs, the faith is mutual… that means the world to me. Excited to start a new version of the chase next week.”

Since being selected 10th overall by New York in the 2022 NFL draft, Wilson has established himself as a cornerstone player for the Jets. He eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons, becoming the first player in franchise history and just the 10th player in NFL history to accomplish the feat.

Despite Wilson’s success, trade rumors surrounded his name entering the 2025 offseason. Alongside the rumblings about his lack of chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Wilson displayed visible on-field frustrations with the team’s constant losing. There was enough fuel for some insiders to claim that Wilson may seek a trade.

However, the Jets apparently did enough to get Wilson to buy in. With a new head coach in Aaron Glenn, the decision to move on from Rodgers, and the addition of Wilson’s college quarterback (Justin Fields), New York made multiple cultural shifts to earn the favor of their phenomenal young wideout, culminating in his lucrative new contract.

With Wilson locked up, the Jets’ next goal is to extend the man who was selected six picks before him in the 2022 draft: cornerback Sauce Gardner.
