One NFL talent evaluator recently weighed in with their thoughts on Jacksonville Jaguars’ linebacker Foyesade Oluokun.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has been speaking with NFL executives, coaches, and scouts as he compiles his ranking of the top 10 players at each position group.

At the linebacker position, Oluokun, after being top 10 in the 2024 rankings, found himself on the outside looking in this year as an honorable mention.

Here is what one NFL personnel evaluator said to Fowler about Oluokun’s game:

“Solid pro,” the evaluator told Fowler. “Tackling machine. Doesn’t have a great playmaking element to his game but can be schemed as a rusher on interior pressures.”

Although Oluokun dropped in these rankings and Devin Lloyd wasn’t even mentioned, Pro Football Focus is extremely bullish on the Jaguars‘ linebacker room this season, ranking them fifth as an overall unit entering the 2025 season.

By PFF’s metrics, Lloyd was one of the best linebackers against the run last season, while Oluokun has often provided a steady presence, especially in the run game and as a blitzer.

Further elevating the play of Oluokun, Lloyd, and the position as a whole could be the addition of defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile and his scheme.

Campanile has been a linebackers coach at the NFL level up to this point in his coaching career, and he’s bringing a defensive system to Jacksonville that helped Packers‘ linebackers Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper play some high level football last season.
