Von Miller Makes Free Agency Decision

  • July 17, 2025

Former All-Pro linebacker Von Miller confirmed reports that he’s signing with the Washington Commanders on his Instagram account Wednesday (July 16) night.

“DC… What’s good??” Miller wrote in a carousel that featured rapper Cam’ron saying the “D.C. is ready for us” from the film Paid in Full, as well as an edited photo of himself in a Commanders uniform and another of his former Denver Broncos teammate Champ Bailey during his previous tenure in Washington.

Miller’s confirmation came after NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported his free agency decision.

“Eight-time Pro Bowl OLB Von Miller is signing with the #Commanders, sources tell The Insiders. Miller has won Super Bowls with the #Broncos and #Rams. Now he’ll try to earn another ring in Washington,” Pelissero wrote on his X account.

Miller, 35, a two-time Super Bowl champion, ranks 16th all-time among NFL players with 129.5 career sacks. The former Texas A&M standout spent the past three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, initially signing a six-year, $120 million deal in March 2022.

Miller recorded 17 tackles and six sacks in 13 games, but made zero starts during the past two seasons. The veteran linebacker spent the majority of his career with the Broncos, having been selected at No. 2 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, winning the 2011 Defensive Rookie of the Year award and Super Bowl 50 MVP in 2016.

Miller was traded to the Los Angeles Rams midway through the 2021 season, which included winning Super Bow LVI. The Texas native is a three-time First-team All-Pro, a four-time Second-team All-Pro and an eight-time Pro Bowler.
