Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins wasn’t a threat to top the list on the recent top 10 poll of anonymous NFL personnel.
That spot belonged to Higgins’ teammate, Ja’Marr Chase.
But Higgins got some love, too, appearing in the “honorable mentions” list, with an NFL scouting director telling ESPN’s Jermey Fowler the following:
“I was very curious to see what he would have done had he hit free agency and been a No. 1 on a team. I think he would be a 100-catch guy somewhere else. He’s really good. Only thing he doesn’t have is top-end speed.”

Bengals fans were probably uncomfortably close to seeing Higgins go somewhere else and give said scouting director his wish before Joe Burrow started throwing his weight around publicly near the end of last season.
Not that Higgins is in a bad spot, of course, with one of the best quarterbacks in football and still sitting on 100-plus targets in four of his last five seasons.
An honorable mentions spot alongside the likes of DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin and others isn’t the worst place to be, either.
