We will preview every player on the Cardinals roster leading up to training camp. This is about OL Jonah Williams.
The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Next up is offensive lineman Jonah Williams.
Jonah Williams background, 2024 season
Williams enters his second season with the Cardinals and is in his seventh NFL season. He was drafted in the first round by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2019 and spent five seasons there, missing his rookie season to injury, playing as their starting left tackle for three seasons and then their starting right tackle for one.
He signed a two-year contract to join the Cardinals last season and be their starting right tackle.
However, he injured his knee in the season opener at the end of the first quarter, missed nine games on injured reserve, returned to start five more games and then re-injured the knee and missed the final two, landing on injured reserve again.
Jonah Williams 2025 contract details, cap hit
Williams enters the second year of the two-year, $30 million contract he signed last offseason. In 2025, he will make $10.78 million in salary, $6.5 million of which is guaranteed. He was due a $1.5 million roster bonus in March. He will count nearly $16.1 million against the cap in 2025.
Questions he faces, roster outlook
When healthy, he gives the Cardinals a very good tackle pairing with Paris Johnson Jr. The question is whether he can stay healthy after getting hurt twice in 2024.
He is a lock to make the roster and is locked in as the starting right tackle in 2025.
