Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe finished third all-time in program history for average yards per game (199.8) behind Bryce Young and Tua Tagovailoa.

Now, he is with the Seattle Seahawks after being selected in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Milroe was the fourth quarterback taken in the draft, with Tyler Shough, Jaxson Dart and Cam Ward going ahead of him.

The Seahawks recently posted a video of Milroe with his new team at rookie minicamp via X.

Milroe was taken before Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was projected as a first-round pick. Sanders fell to the fifth round and was selected by the Cleveland Browns.

Young was the last quarterback drafted by Alabama, going to the Carolina Panthers as the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Milroe’s final season with Alabama was the first year of the Kalen DeBoer era as head coach. Nick Saban retired after the 2023 season, and Alabama hired DeBoer from the Washington Huskies as a replacement.

Milroe threw for 2,844 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2024. He also ran for 726 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns.

The Seahawks will look different from last season after the moves they made in free agency. Receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett have signed with new NFL teams. Quarterback Geno Smith is now with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Seahawks found their starting quarterback after signing free agent Sam Darnold from the Minnesota Vikings. Milroe is not expected to compete for a starting role in 2025 with Darnold under center.

The franchise enters 2025 in the second year under head coach Mike Macdonald. Macdonald led the Seahawks to a 10-7 record and narrowly missed the postseason.
