FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Now back on top in the NFC South, the Atlanta Falcons have a big game ahead of them.
They’ll face the Washington Commanders, who are fresh off a thrilling 36-33 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles thanks to a fourth-quarter comeback led by star rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. It’s been a storybook season for Daniels, but the Falcons aren’t interested in adding another chapter.
As head coach Raheem Morris said after seeing his team had regained control of its playoff destiny, the Falcons are focused on maintaining it: “I closed the phone and realized that we had the pen back. Got to go keep it.”
Atlanta has released its depth chart for the upcoming matchup, which will take place on “Sunday Night Football.” Wide receiver Chris Blair was signed to the active roster prior to the Falcons’ Week 16 win against the New York Giants, and his addition is reflected on the updated depth chart. Additionally, linebacker Rashaan Evans has been removed, as he was released to make room for Blair. A change at kicker is also noted on the depth chart after Younghoe Koo was placed on IR and the team signed Riley Patterson. The other notable difference is Michael Penix Jr.’s listing as the team’s starting quarterback.
