The Miami Dolphins agreed to a fully guaranteed four-year deal with offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea on Friday, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Savaiinaea, the No. 37 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, was the only player from the Dolphins’ eight-player class who didn’t sign with the team in May. But after the first two players selected in the second round received fully guaranteed deals earlier this offseason, negotiations for every other second-round pick hit a snag.

While the logjam broke earlier this week with players taken in the back half of Round 2 accepting a less than full guarantee, Savaiinaea is — at least for now — the latest draftee ever to get a fully guaranteed rookie contract.

The coup for Savaiinaea may have come, in part, due to the Dolphins’ inability to play hardball with training camp set to start. Rookies already reported earlier this week and veterans are set to join Tuesday. Miami likely envisions Savaiinaea as a Week 1 starter at guard and couldn’t wait long to begin preparing the rookie for his immediate role.
