Buffalo Bills legend Thurman Thomas commented on the James Cook contract situation today.
“If this is gonna be is last year, then let it be his last year. Make sure that you play him… over the past couple years, he’s been the second best player on the football team.”… pic.twitter.com/RUQ5RdbFGk

James Cook continues to hope for a new contract from the Buffalo Bills… but it has yet to come.
Cook has emerged as one of the NFL’s top rushers and has made his desire to get paid known. Cook sat out all voluntary workouts this offseason but did show up for mandatory minicamp… but it’s still known he wants to get paid.
Time will tell how it works out for Cook, who is entering the final year of his contract in 2025.
In the meantime, Hall of Famer and former Bills running back Thurman Thomas gave his thoughts on the Cook situation.
Thomas showed a fair level of understanding of the situation. While Cook does play the same position Thomas did during his career, Thomas admitted that the skill of quarterback Josh Allen in the current NFL might make Cook a bit expendable.
Thomas’ full thoughts can be found in the clip below:
