NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) – Construction on a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans has been halted after a noose was found at the site.
Metro Nashville Police and Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell confirmed they are aware and investigating.
“It is very concerning, there is an open investigation, and I know the Titans are cooperating with Metro Nashville Police,” O’Connell said.
Posters have since been set up at the construction site seeking information.
“This week, a racist and hateful symbol was discovered on our site. There is no place for hate or racism in our workplace,” the Tennessee Builders Alliance shared in a statement.
The construction management firm said it is offering a $250,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for leaving the noose that was spotted at the construction site on Friday.
“We are outraged and deeply saddened by this act. We are working in close partnership with our client, trade partners, and unions to ensure every worker understands that racism and hate have no place here. Everyone deserves to feel safe, welcomed, and treated with respect and dignity,” the firm shared in a statement.
