We will preview every player on the Cardinals roster leading up to training camp. This is about OLB Elliott Brown.
The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Next up is outside linebacker Elliott Brown.
Elliott Brown background, 2024 season
After his career at Virginia, Brown wasn’t drafted in 2022 and signed with the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League for the 2023 season. He played 10 games that year and had a breakout season in 2024.
Brown played 18 games and tied for the league lead with 8.0 sacks. He also had 44 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery and was named to the CFL West Division All-Star team.
Elliott Brown 2025 contract details, cap hit
The 27-year-old Brown signed a futures contract with the Cardinals on Jan. 13, 2025. It is a three-year deal for the league minimum with no guaranteed money. This season, if he is on the roster, Brown will be paid $840,000 and that is also his salary-cap charge.
2025 questions, roster outlook
While the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder is a long shot to make the roster, he does bring some skill and could open some eyes in training camp. If that happens, he could be a candidate for the practice squad.
