We will preview every player on the Cardinals roster leading up to training camp. This is about DL Darius Robinson.
The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Next up is defensive lineman Darius Robinson.
Darius Robinson background, 2024 season
Robinson’s rookie season turned out to be a long and frustrating one. Selected from Missouri with the 27th selection in the first round, Robinson was having a stellar training camp until suffering a calf injury in practice on Aug. 22. The rehab was lengthy and complicated by the death of his mom in October. Calf injuries can be troublesome because of the potential to affect the Achilles tendon.
Placed on injured reserve Aug. 27, Robinson was designated for return on Oct. 9 and was activated Oct. 28. However, he was inactive for three games before playing in the final six games of the regular season. He did play 183 defensive snaps (50 percent) in those games and had a modest 10 tackles (four solo, one for loss), 1.0 sack and one quarterback hit.
Darius Robinson 2025 contract details, cap hit
In the second year of a four-year contract worth $13.87 million guaranteed, including a $6.9 million signing bonus, Robinson’s base salary this year is $1.425 million and the salary-cap charge is $3.15 million.
2025 questions, roster outlook
There’s no reason why Robinson shouldn’t pick up where he left off before the 2024 injury. A passionate player and a student of the game, he should become a consistent, disruptive influence on the line.
