The Jacksonville Jaguars are entering a new era with their key arrivals such as Travis Hunter and Liam Coen and departures such as Doug Pederson.

The NFL training camp will fill out the rest of the roster, but the Jags’ starters are almost entirely solidified.

Where do they rank amongst the rest of the league and who are the factors on both sides of the ball?

In ESPN’s ranking of the 2025 NFL starting lineup, they ranked the Jaguars’ starting lineup 22nd in the league.

Their projected lineup included new additions CB Jourdan Lewis, S Eric Murray, C Robert Hainsey, RG Patrick Mekari, WR Dyami Brown and WR/CB Travis Hunter. The additions may have boosted their rankings over the Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders.

Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne Jr., Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker are a few returns to the projected starting lineup.

ESPN gave the biggest strength, biggest weakness, X-factor for 2025 and nonstarter to know for each NFL team. The Jaguars’ pass rush was listed as their biggest strength with Hines-Allen growing into one of the league’s most prolific edge rushers and Walker tallying back-to-back double-digit sack seasons. They also acquired more depth after signing Dennis Gardeck, Emmanuel Ogbah and Dawuane Smoot all in free agency.

The Jaguars’ biggest weakness is their offensive line. They retain Ezra Cleveland during free agency but new interior offensive lineman additions in Hainsey and Mekari create discussions about how well they gel. Walker Little and Anton Harrison posted poor pass block win rates for offensive tackles in the last two seasons. The Jags will hope this offensive line can turn it around with the new additions this season.

The X-factor is Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. The dual-threat athlete will play both sides in the NFL and if he is able to be productive without having much fatigue, he can be something to watch. Fellow wide receivers Thomas and Brown could help Hunter slowly develop. His talent on both sides is undoubtedly there but how will he pan out in the pros?

A nonstarter to know about is former Penn State receiver Parker Washington. The receivers room is not deep and Washington could assist in specific formations and also full-time if someone were to suffer an injury. He had 32 receptions, 390 receiving yards and three touchdowns last season. Former Los Angeles Ram Austin Trammell and former Cincinnati Bengal Trenton Irwin are also a few nonstarters to look out for this upcoming season.
