The Buffalo Bills are expected to announce a new alternative helmet design today, and if the rumors are true, they could be making a HUGE MISTAKE!
This would be a huge mistake in my opinion. I would love to see the current team don the red helmets.
Why The Bills Should Bring Back The Red Helmets
I grew up in West Seneca and have been a Bills fan since the 1980s. I remember Joe Fergerson and crew wearing white helmets, and then the team changed to red ones in 1984. The rumor was that Fergerson wanted red helmets so he could see his wide receivers better.
It seemed to work because when the Bills switched to the red helmets, the team got better. Of course, Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, and Bruce Smith all wore red helmets in the 90s when the Bills went to four straight Super Bowls.

For me, the Red Helmet is a winning helmet, and I would love to see Josh Allen win a Super Bowl in a red cap. But it looks like that won’t happen.
