NFL training camps are underway, and ESPN surveyed league executives, coaches, and scouts to rank the top ten players at eleven positions. How many San Francisco 49ers were included in the top ten of their respective positions?
49ers defensive end Nick Bosa has been ranked as the fifth-best edge rusher in the NFL by a poll of executives, coaches, scouts, and others who are currently plugged into the game.
Bosa, who was ranked fourth in last year’s poll, was named to his fifth-career Pro Bowl roster last season. The 27-year-old played in 14 games during the 2024 season, racking up 33 solo tackles and 19 assisted tackles.

Nick Bosa is an eye-test pass rusher. While his 19.5 sacks over the past two seasons represent mild production for a top-five pass rusher, Bosa’s disruption is obvious.
“His leverage, explosiveness, power and polished rush arsenal are unmatched,” an NFL personnel director said. “He has the same rush moves as [brother] Joey Bosa but with better play strength to win in a variety of ways.”
And Nick Bosa posted a 22.2% pass rush win rate, up nearly four points from the previous year. His 0.70 “get-off” in 2024 was the quickest in his career and tied Garrett for the best of the season.
Since 2021, Bosa has generated 121 quick pressures (under 2.5 seconds), the fifth most in the NFL during that span.
Four NFL players have at least 60 sacks and 10 fumbles since 2019 — Watt, Garrett, Bosa and Hendrickson.

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has been ranked as the fifth-best running back in the NFL by a poll of executives, coaches, scouts, and others who are currently plugged into the game.
McCaffrey, 29, only appeared in four games during the 2024 season after missing the first eight weeks due to Achilles injuries.
The three-time Pro Bolwer rushed for 202 yards and didn’t score a touchdown over his four appearances before suffering a knee injury on December 1st, which shut him down for the remainder of the season.
McCaffrey will look to bounce back in 2025 and post numbers that resemble what he did in 2023: 1,459 rushing yards and 21 all-purpose touchdowns.
