A few members of the Carolina Panthers‘ coaching staff will now have a familiar face at their disposal.

Per the league transaction wire from Tuesday, the Panthers have signed former Seattle Seahawks tight end Tyler Mabry. The 28-year-old veteran was one of 14 players who worked out for the team on Monday.

Mabry spent the first three seasons of his NFL career in Seattle—where he crossed paths with Panthers head coach Dave Canales, offensive coordinator Brad Idzik and tight ends coach Pat McPherson. The 6-foot-3, 247-pounder appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks between 2021 and 2024, with 108 of his 139 total snaps (77.7 percent) coming on special teams.

Carolina’s tight end room is currently without starter Tommy Tremble, who was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list yesterday. Tremble is still recovering from offseason back surgery and is expected to begin his rehabilitation work at the start of training camp.

The roster also features five other tight ends, including 2024 fourth-round pick Ja’Tavion Sanders and 2025 fifth-round pick Mitchell Evans.
