The San Francisco 49ers are entering the 2025 NFL season with notable turnover from the previous year.
Their defensive line will be heavily reliant on newly drafted players, while the wide receiver room has seen changes as well.
Deebo Samuel was traded to Washington. Brandon Aiyuk is still battling back from a knee injury he suffered late last season.
49ers general manager John Lynch told reporters on Tuesday that Aiyuk is “not anywhere close to having a concrete timeline.”

Lynch also said that Ricky Pearsall (hamstring) will be on the PUP list, but they’re expecting the second-year WR to be ready within the first few days of camp.
Meanwhile, Jauan Jennins is someone they “anticipate being out there” despite his desire for a new contract. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that Jennings has not asked to be traded.
“I won’t speak for Jauan, but we had a good visit with him,” Lynch told reporters Tuesday. “We anticipate him being out there. He embodies what we think a Niner’s all about. He plays the right way. We love him.”
