NFL High School FLAG is a nationwide girls flag football league that helps young athletes develop their skills, grow the sport, and create opportunities at the high school level.
Quarterback Emory Beckett led the charge, completing all eight of her passes for 102 yards and three touchdowns, connecting twice with Zahara Hill and once with Kelsey Quinn. On defense, Sonya Chalil and Kaitlyn Reynolds made key interceptions that prevented any potential comeback attempts by the Bad Rabbits.

The Texans entered the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record, including wins over top teams such as the 2024 runner-up Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers, outscoring their opponents 91-26. Their dominant point differential carried through to the championship game where they kept the Bad Rabbits scoreless.
Coach Keenan Hughs, recently named head coach of Concordia University’s inaugural women’s flag football program, praised the team’s resilience.

“They started the season quietly, but when it mattered, they showed the heart and skill that championship teams have,” Hughs said.
The victory also avenges last year’s semifinal loss to the Chargers. With several players — including Maxwell Award winner Ava Wallace and NFL FLAG Player of the Year finalist Sonya Chalil — expected to continue at the collegiate level, the Texans’ championship run signals a bright future for women’s flag football in Texas and beyond.
