The Browns selected QB Shedeur Sanders with the 144th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after trading the 166th overall pick and 192nd overall pick with the Eagles.
Sanders spent his first two college seasons at Jackson State before transferring to Colorado, where he totaled 7,364 passing yards, 64 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in his final two college seasons. Sanders, who was coached by his dad and NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, was a second team All-American and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2024 after completing 4,134 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
“We felt like he was a good solid prospect at the most important position.” Browns Executive Vice President and General Manager Andrew Berry said. “We view him as a highly accurate pocket passer who does a good job of taking care of the ball…We’re excited to work with him.”
Sanders is the second quarterback the Browns have drafted in 2025, joining Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel in the Browns’ draft class. The Browns have added four total quarterbacks this offseason with Sanders, Gabriel, Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett.
