Former Alabama and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa started training camp this week with some rebuilding to do. He and wide receiver Tyreek Hill are rebuilding their relationship after Tyreek had some choice words for Tagovailoa and the Dolphins at the end of last season.

Hill said “I’m out,” at the end of last season after a loss in week 18 to the Jets.

“This is my first time not being in the playoffs,” Hill said at the time. “I just got to do what’s best for me and my family. If that’s here or wherever the case may be, man. I’m [going to] open that door for myself. I’m out, bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I got to do what’s best for my career because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there,” Hill said.

Tagovailoa commented on how he feels about those comments and how they are rebuilding that relationship.

“When you say something like that you don’t just come back with ‘My bad.’ You got to work that relationship up. He is working on himself,” Tagovailoa said.

In 40 games together, Hill has 269 catches, 3,901 yards and 27 touchdowns. But, last season was a down year for Hill as he only had 959 yards, his first season with under 1,000 yards since 2019. Hill the last two season had over 1,700 yards.

Tagovailoa comes into the season on the second year of his 4 year, $212 million contract that he signed last off season. Tagovailoa only played 11 games last year after suffering a concussion but looks to bounce back this year and have a productive year with Hill in a competitive AFC East.
