How many miles will Michigan State football travel this year? It’s in the lower half of the Big Ten — which is a good thing for the Spartans.

With the addition of USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington to the Big Ten last year, one of the notable talking points has been the amount of travel for teams. The lower amount of travel, the better off your team is — or at least that is the theory by some who cover the game.

So with that being said, how many miles will Michigan State travel this year and how does it compare to the rest of the league? Thanks to The Big Ten Huddle podcast, we know Michigan State will travel 37,777 miles — which ranks as the No. 8 lowest among Big Ten teams.

The Spartans longest trip this upcoming season will be a road trip to USC in late September, and their second longest trip will be to Nebraska in early October. Luckily for the Spartans, they’ll get a bye week between these two tough road trips.
