Whoever thought the night of the 2025 NFL draft was the right time to drop some exciting (but unrelated) news should have let that idea bake in the oven a little longer. With all the hubbub surrounding this year’s draft picks and ESPN’s incessant coverage of Shedeur Sanders’ five-round fall, a couple of big announcements flew under the radar.

So grab your calendar, New Orleans Saints fans. The NFL announced that it has scheduled the release of its 2025 schedule release for Wednesday, May 14. That’s when we’ll learn when the Saints are playing all 17 games on this year’s slate, with nine matchups at home and eight on the road. If the league office is following the same strategy as in years past, we’ll learn about high-profile games ahead of time — like the regular season opener, International Series matchups, certain prime-time tilts, and three-game slates for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. They’ll let information drip out one day at a time before opening the fire hose.

The NFL has turned its annual schedule release into an event of its own, featuring multiple days of coverage and an evening full of discussion on NFL Network, NFL.com, the NFL app and NFL+ breaking down the biggest games of the year. Each team’s social media department has turned this into a competition with scripted skits and creative unveilings of their own. While we’re waiting to learn when the Saints are playing this season, we already know who they’re matched up against. See the list for yourself:
