The Indianapolis Colts are currently holding a training camp quarterback battle between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones.
However, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox believes Indianapolis should add more competition to the position group by trading for Cleveland Browns signal-caller Kenny Pickett.

“The Colts, who employ former Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen as their head coach, should consider adding Pickett to their QB competition,” Knox wrote.
Pickett is currently in a quarterback competition of his own with the Browns, who have four potential starting options.
If Pickett is unable to snag the starting spot in Cleveland, the team could look to trade him and acquire draft capital instead of stashing him on the bench. Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders all have chances to steal the job away from the 27-year-old.
The Colts could emerge as a landing spot for Pickett if neither Richardson nor Jones establishes themselves as the clear-cut starter. However, giving up draft capital for a below-average starting signal-caller would be an abysmal move by general manager Chris Ballard, who could be fighting for his job in 2025.

Overall, it’s unlikely that Pickett will be on the move before Week 1, but he could be a potential trade deadline candidate if there are teams interested in a veteran backup.
Indianapolis will likely roll into the season with Richardson or Jones as the starter, and the other as a high-quality backup.
