I can already hear it now, a 2028 NFL Mock Draft for an event that is still 3 years away. Did we really need this? Yes, yes, you did! And I’m here to provide an extremely early mock draft for a class that could bring some really talented dual-threat QBs into the league!
For this mock draft, I put the teams in a randomizer, seeing as there’s no rhyme or reason to a mock in 3 years. I will say, I could see Indy be at #1 if they don’t get this QB situation straightened out ASAP. I will be picking based on the team currently and factoring in my 2026 and 2027 mock drafts to some degree, but it’s a fun thought exercise, honestly.

2028 NFL Mock Draft Analysis
This could be another potential strong draft class for quarterbacks, offensive tackles, and defensive backs. If you check the major recruiting sites, those areas have multiple 5-Star prospects. Now, being a 5-star recruit doesn’t guarantee you being a first-round draft pick, you gotta put in the work and prove to teams you are a franchise player throughout your collegiate career.
I tend to lean into the trench players, and quarterbacks, and then sprinkle in some of the other positions, but you can tell that I think we continue to see the trend where TONS of the first two groups of players I mentioned get drafted early. Every year, we see multiple teams looking for their franchise-saving quarterback, and we continue to hear how you can never have enough edge rushers, so even if 7-12 players fit either category, you’re looking at nearly a third of the round right there. Because we are so far out, I look towards the higher-level recruits to fill out this group of players, but that certainly doesn’t mean it will happen that way.
