The Kansas City Chiefs will need all hands on deck if they want to maximize thier potential on offense and thier Super Bowl contention window while Patrick Mahomes is in his prime. Mahomes spoke earlier this offseason about how loaded the weapons around him were heading into this year.
“I think it’s gonna come from everywhere,” Mahomes said. “Obviously, you’ve got Rashee being back. He looks great. You have Xavier Worthy, who came on so strong at the end of last year. You have Hollywood Brown healthy again. Guys everywhere.
“You add in Travis Kelce, a Hall of Famer. Noah Gray, a great tight end, and everybody that we’ve added to all those different rooms. We have so many weapons. Let’s go out there and just maximize it all. It’s not gonna be just one person. It’s gonna be the entire offense going out there and showcasing what the Kansas City Chiefs truly are.”
Unfortunately, one Chiefs insider broke the news that one of those weapons has gone down with an injury in training camp.
“The 1st team rep for the Chiefs today was a deep pass from Patrick Mahomes to Xavier Worthy, who tried to make a diving, outstretched catch. Worthy left the field with a trainer & is being evaluated in the medical tent at the moment of this tweet,” reported ESPN’s Nate Taylor.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“WHY ARE WE DIVING IN PRACTICE?” one fan wanted to know on Twitter.
“Can’t be football season without chiefs wr injuries/issues,” one fan added.
Hopefully, Worthy is fully healthy by the time the regular season commmences.
