STORRS, CT. (WFSB) – It’s time to start thinking about UConn football again!
After the success of last year’s squad that was capped off with a Fenway Bowl victory over North Carolina, there is a lot of hope and optimism heading into the upcoming season.
“We won’t spend anytime thinking about last year at all. Eyes forward all the time, we’ll try to build on what we accomplished, but it won’t be a rallying cry or anything like that,” said Head Coach Jim Mora.
The Huskies experienced their winningest season in 20 years in 2024.
With that, there is an eagerness to take the field again for 2025.
“Yeah, success can go one of two ways, you can be satisfied or like you said, you can want more, and the guys on this team want more, thankfully, we got that little taste and we’re hungry for more,” said Quarterback Joe Fagnano. “Now we have to continue to build trust so people will believe in what we’re doing, they want to come out and support us and they want to spend their Saturdays at rent.”
Their first game is Saturday August 30th against Central Connecticut State.
