After winning the Super Bowl last season, the Philadelphia Eagles have high expectations again in 2025.

And while the team has high expectations this season, they might be able to remain in the Super Bowl mix for years to come. The birds received a more favorable ranking entering this season in an important aspect of the game after finishing near the bottom ahead of 2024.

ESPN’s Under-25 Rankings Show Eagles’ Growth

While the Eagles have one of the best defensive tackles in the league with Jalen Carter, they also have one of the top cornerbacks in the league with Quinyon Mitchell.  With those two young stars, the Eagles were ranked No. 14 overall for talent under 25 years old by ESPN.

The Eagles had a pair of “blue-chip” players marked, Carter and Mitchell, and had two players graduate this offseason in Jordan Davis and Johan Dotson.

Philadelphia’s under-25 talent was ranked No. 29 a season ago, but the team hit on multiple picks in the draft, moving them to the middle of the pack.

In addition to Carter and Mitchell, the team’s best under-25 player talent is Cooper DeJean, 22. After those three, there’s Nolan Smith, Moro Ojomo, Jalyx Hunt, and Nakobe Dean, all 24. Cornerback Kelee Ringo is just 23, and rookies Jihaad Campbell (21) and Andrew Mukuba (22) are also under 25.

On offense, a trio of young offensive role players, Ainias Smith, Johnny Wilson, both 24, and running back Will Shipley is 23, led the way.

Even though the ranking has the Eagles in the middle of the pack, they have plenty of young talent that should keep them competitive for years to come, with a majority of the team’s production coming from guys aged 25-30.

NFC East Comparison: Who’s Got the Edge?

As far as the NFC East, the Commanders and Giants finished in the Top 10, with Washington No. 3 and New York at No. 4 on the list, respectively, while the Cowboys found themselves at No. 17.

There’s a lot of good, young talent in the NFC East, but they are all chasing the Super Bowl champs, who have the tools right now to be the first team to win back-to-back division titles since the Eagles won four straight from 2001-2004.
