With training camp underway throughout the league, here’s a little update on some former Philadelphia Eagles and a look at who is on a new roster in 2025 — at least for training camp. This long list of names will surely dwindle as we approach roster cuts, but there are plenty of former Birds to keep an eye on.
Several Eagles retired
Four members of the Eagles Super Bowl LII roster announced their retirements this offseason, including Jason Peters, Ronald Darby, Jordan Hicks, and Rodney McLeod.
Hicks and McLeod spent the last few years together in Cleveland under DC Jim Schwartz, and while McLeod announced his retirement earlier in the offseason, Hicks made the decision just after the start of training camp.

Another former Eagles announced his retirement as camp got underway, OG Nate Herbig, is hanging up his cleats after five seasons. He spent the entire 2024 season on the Steelers IR with a shoulder injury, and then signed with the Washington Commanders this spring.
Kenny Pickett injured
The Browns said there’s a chance the team keeps four quarterbacks on the roster, and now they might not have a choice. Kenny Pickett injured his hamstring on Saturday and will be re-evaluated in a week. In the meantime, former Eagles QB Joe Flacco is leading the offense, and trying to help the team’s two rookies quarterbacks.
Browns QB Kenny Pickett injured his hamstring near the end of Saturday’s practice and is expected to re-evaluate the injury later this week, per sources. Other notables
Derek Barnett will start training camp for the Houston Texans on the PUP list with an undisclosed injury.
Offensive guard Isaac Seumalo opened camp on the Steelers’ active/non-football injury list with what they’re calling a soft-tissue issue.
Veteran lineman Sua Opeta signed with the Bucs this offseason, but was placed on the PUP list to start camp.
