The Seattle Seahawks and general manager John Schneider have agreed to a multi-year contract extension through the 2030 NFL Draft, according to a report Wednesday morning by FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer.

Bump: MVS will be Seahawks’ biggest explosive-play threat

Schneider’s previous extension came in January 2021 and ran through the 2027 draft.

Schneider has been Seahawks GM since 2010, when he arrived in Seattle alongside former longtime head coach Pete Carroll and helped usher in the most successful era in franchise history. He added the additional title of president of football operations last year.

Under Schneider, the Seahawks have totaled 10 playoff appearances, nine 10-win seasons, five division titles, two Super Bowl appearances and the franchise’s lone Super Bowl title. Schneider drafted the likes of Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor and Bobby Wagner, who all became cornerstones during the franchise’s golden era in the mid-2010s.

From 2010 through 2023, Schneider ceded the final say in personnel matters to Carroll. After Carroll and the Seahawks parted ways in January 2024, Schneider assumed that role. The early returns have been positive, as Seattle reached the 10-win mark last season for the first time since 2020 and have reshaped their roster with young talent from an intriguing draft class this spring.
