Taylor Moton knows that he could be in his last training camp with the Carolina Panthers.

The team’s longtime starting right tackle chatted with reporters following Wednesday’s practice. He was asked about the uncertainty surrounding his future beyond the upcoming campaign, as the soon-to-be 31-year-old enters the final year of his pact.

“I know I have another contract in me,” Moton stated. “I know I have more good football in me. I’ve heard the rumblings about my health, but I’m feeling great. Even though I got Year Nine in mind, body feeling like a rookie again. So I feel I got some good years left ahead of me.”

Those rumblings have popped up after Moton, who played in every single game through his first seven seasons, missed three outings due to injury in 2024. Some within the organization, according to a report by Joe Person of The Athletic from earlier this month, are questioning if Moton will be able to hold up beyond his current deal.

Person, who was present for today’s session, asked Moton about possibly being in his last go-round with the Panthers. His response was a rather emotional one . . .

Panthers executive vice president of football operations Brandt Tilis took some questions as well, and was asked about his outlook on Moton.

“So any conversations that we have with Taylor and his agents, or any player and their agents, we just keep between us,” Tilis said. “As far as Taylor himself goes, I did see him get a little emotional up here. That’s hard. That’s the hard part of our business—that somebody pours their whole life into this, like Taylor has, and he’s faced with potentially going to a new place next year. But, at the same time, we are gonna make the best decision for the organization. And if that means keeping Taylor here, then that’s great.”

Moton has played in 129 of a possible 132 contests since being drafted by Carolina in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft.
