The Las Vegas Raiders could be looking to add another dynamic playmaker to the offense, and it looks like Terry McLaurin could be on the market.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, McLaurin has requested a trade from the Washington Commanders as contract negotiations continue to stall. The 29-year-old receiver is entering the final year of his deal in 2025 and has yet to practice in training camp.

“BREAKING: Commanders All-Pro WR Terry McLaurin has requested a trade, multiple sources tell me,” Schultz wrote on X.

Trading for McLaurin would be a bold move by the Raiders, but one that makes a ton of sense.

The team’s wide receiver room is young and unproven outside of Jakobi Meyers, so adding McLaurin to the mix would give quarterback Geno Smith another capable pass catcher with experience.

McLaurin has tallied five straight 1,000-yard campaigns and posted a career-high 13 receiving touchdowns. The Ohio State product also earned his second Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro honors for his play last year.

Las Vegas has revamped the franchise this offseason, bringing in John Spytek as general manager and Pete Carroll as head coach. Spytek pulled off a massive move to upgrade the quarterback position by acquiring Smith, and he could do the same with the receiver group by trading for McLaurin.

The Raiders have a ton of cap space in the future, and also a good amount of draft capital. Pulling off a trade for McLaurin shouldn’t be an issue, though the team could prioritize an extension for Meyers over an immediate trade for another receiver.

Nevertheless, McLaurin landing with the Raiders would be electric. Washington would be foolish to move on from their superstar playmaker, but the possibility of McLaurin playing elsewhere has risen.
