The Detroit Lions traded up from 182 (sixth round) to 171 (fifth round) to select LSU guard Miles Frazier.

The move up cost Detroit one of their seventh-round picks (228 overall). They have two more remaining (230, 244).

Frazier is the second guard the Lions have taken in the 2025 NFL Draft, joining second-round pick Tate Ratledge out of Georgia.

Frazier was a four-year starter in college, one at FIU and three years at LSU. He has experience at four different spots:

28 games at right guard
12 games at left tackle
9 games at left guard
2 games at right tackle

And much like most of the picks the Lions make, he’s got a mean mentality on the field. Arkansas defensive linemen Eric Gregory once described him this way (per Dane Brulger’s The Beast):

“He had an extra edge. You could see he was different.”

By many accounts, this is great value for Frazier. Brugler had him as his 81st best prospect in this year’s draft, while Daniel Jeremiah had him 61st overall.
