North Carolina Tar Heels football coach Bill Belichick has been on the receiving end of jokes from comedians and plenty of his peers regarding his relationship with Jordan Hudson. Now, the future Hall of Famer is evidently getting verbal jabs thrown his way by an NFL reporter.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com received the Bill Nunn Memorial Award on Friday from the Pro Football Writers Association. The long-time reporter talked about her start in the industry, covering Bill Belichick’s team. After recounting how Belichick would call and yell at her for things she wrote, she took one shot at him.

“Now I totally understand why Bill gave me such a hard time. I was 28 at the time and he just couldn’t relate to a woman that old.”

The joke is obviously in reference to Jordan Hudson, who is believed to be 24 years old. It has been reported that Belichick, now 73 years old, and Hudson started dating around 2023, when she would have been just 22 years old.

Both Hudson and Belichick have been the subject of public scrutiny and mockery this year. The inner circle of the Tar Heels’ coach has been “deeply concerned” about Hudson’s influence over his life. Belichick’s ex-girlfriend also confronted Hudson at a Christmas party last year.

The Browns’ reporter is just the latest person to take a shot at Belichick, joining a list that includes former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. While the two have largely avoided making headlines this summer, that will likely change once North Carolina’s season kicks off in September.
