The New Orleans Saints are set at their top two cornerback spots with Alontae Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry.Now defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, cornerbacks coach Grady Brown and defensive pass game coordinator Terry Joseph have to figure out who’s the third cornerback.The guy leading the way so far this training camp is Isaac Yiadom.He returned to the Saints after spending the 2024 season with the San Francisco 49ers. “Had a chance to go other places but as soon as I got the offer back from New Orleans I knew I wanted to be here, I ain’t really wanna look anywhere else, I ain’t really care what it was,” Yiadom said.Yiadom joined the Saints late in the 2022 season.He started eight games in 2023, finishing with 1 interception and 14 passes defended.”I love these guys in the locker room, I had a lot of success when I played here and man it’s just my happy place. I love New Orleans and I love being a Saint, so I’m really happy to be back.”He’s even happier to be back in Staley’s system.He played for Staley in Denver in 2019 and San Francisco last season.”It’s a little bit of thinking but it’s high level football and with me being in the system third time around it’s pretty familiar to me, it’s pretty easy. I’m able to go out there and just play fast and not really think about the defense as much because I know my assignment but more of the offense and get one step ahead.”Yiadom feels like OTAs were huge for the secondary but being in training camp is allowing them to tweak things even more and helping them play together.
