Tennis icon Martina Navratilova has once again come for Donald Trump after he appointed controversial NFL star Lawrence Taylor to his Presidential Fitness Test council.

The U.S. President signed an executive order on Thursday re-establishing the once-regular fixture in American schools. To ensure the program’s success, he has assembled a team of high-profile athletes, including WWE star Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who featured in a bizarre promotional video for the White House.

Taylor’s inclusion, though, has certainly raised eyebrows given his controversial past, which includes drug abuse and his status as a registered sex offender. He is one of five NFL stars to be recruited by Trump for the new role.

Navratilova, however, has fumed over the decision to appoint Taylor. The tennis legend is no stranger to slamming Trump, and has now taken to social media once more to take aim at the 79-year-old.

In response to a tweet mocking Trump for “boldly appointing a registered child sex offender to his Council on Sports Fitness and the Presidential Fitness Test for kids”, Navratilova wrote: “Nothing like hiring a sex offender and a former drug abuser for this particular job….”

Taylor pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute in 2011 and was sentenced to six years of probation as well as ordered to register as a sex offender.

Regardless, his appointment of Taylor to his Sport, Fitness and Nutrition council has only handed Navratilova further ammunition to target him with – not that she needs it.

Last month, the 68-year-old brandished Trump a “psychopath” for his latest words on releasing sharks and alligators around Alcatraz prison, having confirmed plans to re-open the iconic maximum security penitentiary.

When asked if the idea is that an immigrant will be eaten by an alligator should they escape from Alcatraz Trump said: “I guess that’s the concept. Snakes are fast but alligators— we’re going to teach them how to run away from an alligator. Don’t run in a straight line, run *waving hand* like this.”

Responding to a video of the conversation on X, Navratilova responded: “Been calling him a psychopath by proxy for years. And I was right.”

Before then, the former world number one said that Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton were “right about everything” in the wake of arguably Trump’s biggest week as president since retaking office in January.

At the end of June, the politician struck an agreement for a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, mere days after bombing three nuclear sites in the former as part of efforts to eliminate the nation’s nuclear capabilities.

Less than 24 hours later, Trump launched into an expletive rant on live TV as he accused both Israel and Iran of breaching his ceasefire agreement, claiming they “don’t know what the f— they’re doing” in a moment that will go down in history.
