Brady’s career in brief
A team statement in 2023, the year Brady retired from the NFL, noted that Brady left the league as the NFL’s career leader in yards passing (89,214) and touchdowns (649).
Brady won six Super Bowls with the Patriots, and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“He’s the only player to win more than five Super Bowls and has been MVP of the game five times,” Patriots.com stated. “He also holds marks for regular-season wins (251), Super Bowl appearances (10), playoff games and wins (48, 35), as well as playoff yards (13,400) and TDs (88).”
As the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady was selected behind six other quarterbacks. He began as the Patriots’ fourth-string quarterback. But he replaced Drew Bledsoe as the starter when Bledsoe went down with an injury early in the 2001 season, and never gave the job back. He won his first Super Bowl at the end of that season, when the Patriots defeated the heavily favored St. Louis Rams.
